BMC Community Impact

The BMC believes in our local community and is excited to continue to expand our impact.

We have recently chosen the North Shore United Way as our community partner for the 2010-2011 year.  They are an amazing organization solely organized to help fund and support community non-profit initiatives throughout the North Shore of Massachusetts and we are thrilled to have them as part of our team!   Look for updatedvolunteer activities that we will be organizing for both moms and families throughout the year as a result of this partnership.

In December 2010, the BMC adopted 16 families through the Beverly Bootstraps Adopt a Family program.  This was a great way for both moms and children alike to learn the true spirit of the holiday season and is one of our favorite programs to support in the community.

In October 2010, the BMC did a family community volunteer project coordinated by the NSUW at the Early Intervention Center at Northeast ARC.  We did a Fall cleanup of the playground and also an equipment cleaning through the EI center.  Both moms and their boys had a great time helping out this amazing organization.

In October 2010, the BMC also held a winter coat drive for Cradles to Crayons in Quincy, MA in support of their dire need of warm clothing for the over 30,000 children they serve.   We were able to deliver over 20 bags of coats and warm clothes to the Cradles to Crayon Factory.

In May 2010, we were thrilled to participate in our first family volunteer project – coordinated by the North Shore United Way (www.nsuw.org) at Beverly Bootstraps where both mothers and children helped sort food donated through the U.S. Postal Services food drive

For the 2009-10 year, the BMC chose the  Friends of Cove Park as our local community partner.  Through proceeds from our School Fair and Holiday Boutique, we were able to donate $1,000 to their organization to help fund a new community space in Beverly for the benefit of all residents.  The new playground at Cove Park is currently in construction due to be finished by September 2010!

In March 2010, the BMC spent a day at Cradles for Crayons volunteering in the Giving Factory.  BMC members inspected incoming books, match outfits, sort and test toys, stuff backpacks, or fill orders that meet the needs of individual boys and girls in local communities.

In Fall 2009, the BMC hosted the 2nd Annual School Information Fair in the Fall that was attended by over 20 local independent and private schools (preschool thru high school).  We offer this Fair to assist local families deciding between the myriad of amazing school choices in the nearby surrounding areas.

In 2008, we participated in the Beverly Bootstraps Adopt a Family Holiday Gift Drive and were able to help out families at-need with presents for their children.   We also collected monetary donations for the Beverly Bootstraps Gift of Heat and were able to donate $1,000 to that program during a horrific winter of cold and tough economic times.
